Advantages of this system
- Accessibility - All lanes can be accessed from the aisle at any time irrespective of the storage level
- Maintenance costs - Slow or fast movement of loads within lanes, requires little maintenance
- Applications - This type of system is well suited to the task of load marshalling, allowing up to six loads to be stored in each lane. It’s also great for bulk storage and bulk handling
- Identification - Each load in the depth can be identified by track-mounted ‘flags’ located on the access face
Pallet Racking Systems
Adjustable Pallet Racking
This is the most common form of pallet racking. APR is a system of beams clipped into frames.
In general the beams support the pallet but on occasions the pallet is also supported by timber decking, mesh decking or pallet support bars.
Very Narrow Aisle Racking
Very Narrow Aisle Racking is generally used in warehouses which are a little tighter on space.
Using a narrow aisle Forklift truck allows you to access all pallets, lifting higher and working faster than standard counterbalance trucks.
Drive-in Racking
Drive-in Racking is an ideal system for large quantities of the same type of product. It is a variation to block stacking.
It works on the principle of first in last out so is not particularly good for stock rotation.
Push Back Racking

Shuttle Racking
Shuttle Racking is an alternative to Drive In racking or Live Storage Racking.
The idea is that each lane is a single product but unlike drive in racking not all products within the bay need to be the same thus allowing greater density of storage.
Live Storage Racking
Live Storage Racking is a system where pallets are put onto rollers at one end and they can then run down the rollers to be picked off at the other end.
It is a relatively expensive storage solution but can improve efficiency in many warehouses.
Mobile Pallet Racking
The Mobile Pallet Racking consist of units of conventional pallet racking mounted on a steel framed base.
This system is installed over guided mobile bases that slide laterally, eliminating the need for aisles.
Special Racking
Carpets, carpet pads and rolls of vinyl are inefficiently stored on pallets, which is why carpet racks are a much better storage alternative to maximize your valuable floor space. A system that is good for storing rolled up lengths of material such as carpet.
