We offer racking rental
Companies in the past would buy used racking purely because of price but the market is changing due to companies such as secondhandracking.com. Now more and more companies are making a positive choice in purchasing used equipment not only because of the value for money but also because of reliability and the benefits to the environment.
Racking is seen as a means to an end, the important job it does is helps to make warehousing operations more efficient. Having large sums of capital in warehouse racking does not always make sense. Used racking has been frowned upon by the industries establishment without any real justification. To be a member of SEMA, the main industry trade body, a supplier is not allowed to sell any used equipment. Such a carte blanche ban is illogical as many SEMA members will happily dismantle and re-erect in another building racking that has been in situ for many years yet they will not take this as a trade in and install in another customers’ premises.
However, it is patently obvious, that just like any used equipment, racking doesn’t suddenly become useless the day after it leaves the factory. Secondhand racking is only as good as the company that installs it but this is the same with new racking. Once it is accepted that the racking components if correctly put together is merely a tool to organise a customer’s products within the warehouse, then provided the supplying company meets the necessary standards whether new or used becomes irrelevant. Once this is acknowledged there are a whole range of possibility open to the warehouse operator. One of which is genuine racking rental.
We have now launched a genuine racking rental service. In the past this has not been a viable option in most circumstances due to the cost of installation, delivery and the initial depreciation of new racking which, if following the official SEMA line is 100%, there is little residual value awarded the racking. However, as Secondhandracking.com are one of the country’s leading stockists of new and used equipment they are in an excellent position to apply meaningful residual values thus lessening the cost of rental.
Customers now have a choice whether to buy or rent their racking with minimal strings attached.
